The Bruise Relief® recipe has been in the Cranner family for over 100 years. Barbara Cranner, owner of Bruise Relief, thought everyone in her family was, “in the know”, as to the many uses for this remedy. Now the fifth generation of Bruise Relief users, her family was surely privy to every Bruise Relief fact, story, or secret passed down through a long line of relatives.

Following a recent sailing excursion, Bruise Relief’s fearless leader learned that her husband was not “in the know” about all things Bruise Relief. When her husband took a rather painful whack to the wrist, almost immediately, an ugly 4-inch blue and purple bruise began to form. When Barbara offered her husband some gauze bandage along with the Bruise Relief, he questioned the need for gauze.

What? How can this be? Apparently, he had never heard about the gauze /Bruise Relief combination. Barbara explained.

For severe cases, gauze can really help in the recovery process.

First, apply Bruise Relief to the area as soon as possible. Secondly, secure a piece of gauze to the area so the Bruise Relief stays on and can be absorbed into the skin.

Armed with this new bit of knowledge, Barbara’s husband applied Bruise Relief and gauze to the large purplish bruise. The next day, the bruise was gone. Vanished.

Get “in the know”, try the Bruise Relief and gauze combo.

It does the trick!

We’ve had some great questions and comments on the Bruise Relief® blog this month so we’d like to take the time to address them individually.

How long does it take to see results from Bruise Relief?

Typically our customers report their bruises either never appear or are dramatically less severe on the first day of using Bruise Relief. We do recommend however that best results are achieved by using Bruise Relief right after impact, within the first hour of trauma to the skin. Many customers do report using Bruise Relief on an older bruise and have noticed those bruises heal faster.

Why is Arnica not in Bruise Relief? Is Arnica a bad thing?

Arnica is not in Bruise Relief because it was never in the original formula developed five generations ago. Arnica has been around for a long time. Our customers tell us they prefer taking fewer internal medications, particularly those people on blood thinners. Bruise Relief contains natural ingredients and is applied topically.

Where can I purchase Bruise Relief?

Bruise Relief is available at Walgreens nationwide. Look for us on their pharmacy counters in May and June. Bruise Relief is also available at Supervalu and Jewel-Osco drugstores, online at Target.com and Amazon.com. You may purchase Bruise Relief on our website or visit the Bruise Relief home page to see a complete listing of retailers currently carrying Bruise Relief gel and serum.

We’ll wrap things up with this great comment from a loyal customer:

I use Bruise Relief for Sclerotherapy Treatments (for spider veins.) I rub some on before leaving the doctor’s office and the bruising is usually reduced by 75-80%. As a matter of fact I just told a co-worker about your product this morning; how it works and where she can purchase it. I tell everyone about it, how it is basically a natural product, and very easy to use.

Keep those questions and comments coming in to the website. We love to hear from you!

Catherine Shreves, Health and Beauty Reporter for ABC 26 had this to say about Bruise Relief:

Before you can know how to treat your under eye dark circles, doctors say you have to know why you have them, since there are a variety of treatment options out there suited for specific causes. Some of the common causes of dark circles: Aging, Heredity, Excessive Sun Exposure, Broken Capillaries, Loss of Fat and Collagen, Stress and Lack of Sleep, and Allergies.

Allergies are actually the most common cause of dark circles, which Dermatologist Dr. Deirdre Hooper says can often be relieved by taking over-the-counter antihistamines like Zyrtec. She says products like Zyrtec can help shrink the vessels under the skin and reduce that purplish color we dread. For sun damaged skin, and for under eyes with broken capillaries and thinning skin, she also recommends Retinoids, like Renova or Retin-A at night, and an eye cream with a growth factor, like Lumiere.

Dr. Mary Lupo says an inexpensive, yet effective eye cream can also be found in Bruise Relief, a product created by the Mandeville-based company, Dr. Holmquist Healthcare LLC. Bruise Relief is actually used by a number of dermatologists to prevent post-procedural bruising, and Dr. Lupo says it can help with dark circles that are caused by broken capillaries.

Other tips to prevent dark circles—Wear sunscreen, drink lots of water, watch your alcohol intake, sleep on your back, elevated with 2 pillows if possible, get plenty of rest, and avoid stress! (I know, the last two are easier said than done!)

So how do injectable fillers factor into the dark circle debate? And if all else fails, what’s the best way to cover up dark circles? (i’ll give you a hint—Think Pink!)

Watch the video above to find the answers to these questions and more, plus see some dramatic before and after pictures.

Bruise Relief® IS ON SALE AT WALGREENS FOR ONLY $9.99 DURING THE ENTIRE MONTH OF APRIL!!

Take advantage of this special offer to try Bruise Relief, the natural formula that helps your skin recover from traumas that result in bruising.

You never know when you might need this rescue remedy. Did you injure yourself at the gym? Maybe take a wild punch or kick in Jiu Jitsu class? Apply Bruise Relief to the point of impact and you will accelerate the healing process tenfold. Instead of 2 weeks of ugly discoloration, your skin will look great within a few days.

Maybe you had a late night? Those dark circles under your eyes could be a dead giveaway at work the next day. Bruise Relief applied under the eyes will diminish circles and give you a fresher look. It may get you that promotion.

Bruising or discoloration of the skin occurs when an injury causes pooling of blood and fluids beneath the surface of the skin. Bruise Relief works by super-hydrating the area, helping the body to reabsorb the excess blood and fluids, and diminishing the appearance and duration of bruises. Instead of two weeks of purple or blue or even green skin, you can be bruise free.

Spring Sports Season is here! Pack a tube of Bruise Relief in your gear bag and save yourself the pain and embarrassment of unsightly bruises.

Don’t forget. For the month of April only, find us on the shelves at Walgreens nationwide for $2 off the retail price. Give Bruise Relief a try. Tell a friend. Buy a tube for your mom or dad. See just how great Bruise Relief works.

“I squeeze the packet like a toothpaste tube to get the most out of it. Then at home what I would do to get all the product out is to slit it up the side, open it up and rub the packet against my skin almost like a tissue.”

A self-proclaimed Bruise Relief® skeptic and MD sent us this comment:

Sorry for being so skeptical re: Bruise Relief but your explanation does make ingenious sense. It is similar to what we see in “compartment syndrom ” or tamponade wherein one fluid or solution competes for and takes over a “space” not allowing the other. Your ingredients are competing for the intestitial space with the extravasated blood.

Here’s what that means for you Bruise Relief® lovers out there:

Compartment syndrome and tamponade are both terms that refer to the compression of blood vessels. Bruise Relief®, when applied shortly after trauma, is acting as the compressor that prevents blood and fluids from pooling and bruises from appearing.

When we experience trauma to the skin, whether from injury, surgery or other causes, blood and fluids are forced out into the surrounding tissue. This process causes bruising.

Bruise Relief® combats bruising in two ways. First, the ingredients in Bruise Relief® (Distilled water, Glycerin, Vitamin E Oil, Evening Primrose Oil and Carbomer) when applied shortly after impact or cosmetic procedure, are absorbed quickly into the skin and immediately begin preventing blood from filling in the impacted area. Second, Bruise Relief® will help prevent or lessen any further bleeding.

Instead of a bruise forming, the blood and fluids that cause bruising are reabsorbed into the skin effectively preventing or diminishing the appearance of a bruise.

See Bruise Relief really is ingenious!

Louisiana Woman Finds Relief in SECRET Family Recipe

Interview with Barbara Cranner Founder of Bruise Relief

When Barbara Cranner launched Bruise Relief®, she knew she had an effective product because it had been used it in her family for five generations. What she did not know was how many great resources she had in her own “backyard” of New Orleans. Following Hurricane Katrina, Barbara decided that someone in her family needed to focus full-time on bringing the family remedy to the mass market.

After 24 years as a financial advisor, Barbara decided to leave the financial business in 2006 and commit her time to developing her great grandmother’s remedy for the mass market. Barbara launched Dr. Holmquist Healthcare, LLC, a family- and majority-woman-owned and operated company, which is headquartered in Mandeville, Louisiana. The company is named for Barbara’s step-father, Dr. Nelson Holmquist, a cyto-pathologist.

Initially, Barbara thought Bruise Relief would be marketed as a First Aid product for children, but she was pleased to learn interest came from people of all ages. A topical skin care product, Bruise Relief® comes in a gel and serum formulation and is designed to eliminate the appearance of bruising and skin discoloration. Seniors citizens now tell Barbara that it helps with their ever present bruises, and the cosmetic industry also sees its benefits. Dermatologists and plastic surgeons have attested to the benefits of Barbara’s product. Even women with dark circles under their eyes are reaping the benefits of Bruise Relief®. After years of hard work, Barbara was able to see the fruits of her labor when fine pharmacies and online retailers decided to carry Bruise Relief®.

Despite the economic downturn, Barbara has continued to grow her business and is looking to expand the brand and company. She has learned the importance of developing a marketing and advertising plan that fits her budget, needs and goals. She is turning to new media as a unique way of reaching consumers. Social media and ambassador programs, combined with sampling and traditional advertising have allowed Dr. Holmquist Healthcare to reach consumers nationwide without breaking the budget of this small business.

Barbara now generates business primarily from in-store and online sales. Customers are able to visit the company’s website http://bruiserelief.com/shop/to purchase either the serum or gel Bruise Relief® formulas. In addition, interested visitors can request a free sample to test the product before purchasing it. Barbara has found this business model to be a success because she can use her marketing strategies to drive sales both in-store and online. In the future, she hopes to test new marketing approaches to reach an ever wider consumer base than the one she has already established.

A friend asks, “What can I do when I’ve just hit my ankle but I need to get dressed for work? How can I keep Bruise Relief® on the injury while I’m on the go? ”

Many times we injure ourselves as the result of being on the go, hurrying to make the bed or rushing to get to work. As we’ve said before, Bruise Relief® is most effective when applied shortly after impact. Here’s some advice for busy people:

First, keep Bruise Relief® handy so that when you’re injured, you can reach for relief.

Second, an easy way to use Bruise Relief® on the go is to apply to the injury and then cover with a gauze strip.

Using the gauze strip over Bruise Relief® will keep the gel or serum on the point of impact so its not wiped away by clothing or movement.

Keep those questions and comments coming!
