As I was walking past my opened dishwasher door, I scratched my calf on the sharp edge to the point of bleeding…something that has happened many times before. I accidentally smashed the tip of my ring finger while closing a door. It was the sort of painful crush injury that would usually leave the finger black-and-blue for many days.
